The core of luxury stone maintenance is to avoid damage, regularly clean, and provide targeted protection. Different materials (such as natural marble and jade luxury stones) require slight adjustments to details, but the general principles are consistent.
Daily basic maintenance
Avoid collisions/scratches with hard objects: When placing items, handle them gently to prevent sharp hard objects such as metal and porcelain from directly hitting the surface. Soft cushions can be added to the feet of furniture and the bottom of ornaments.
Control environmental temperature and humidity: Keep the environment dry and ventilated, avoid long-term exposure to humidity (prone to mold growth) or direct sunlight/high temperature (prone to cracking and fading), and keep away from air conditioning and heating vents.
Timely cleaning of stains: Daily stains (dust, water stains) should be gently wiped with a soft dry cloth or slightly damp cloth to avoid friction with rough cloths; Oil stains, juice and other sticky stains should be wiped immediately to prevent penetration.
Targeted protective measures
Regular sealing and protection: Natural luxury stones (especially marble and limestone) need to be sealed every 6-12 months, using specialized stone sealants to form a protective film to block the penetration of stains (jade luxury stones can reduce frequency).
Prohibit harmful cleaning products: Avoid using cleaning agents containing strong acids or alkalis (such as toilet cleaner and kitchen heavy oil cleaner), as they can corrode the surface of the stone. It is recommended to use neutral stone specific cleaning agents.
Special material attention: luxury stones containing metal minerals and semi precious stones should not contact chemical agents (such as perfume and cosmetics) to prevent oxidation and discoloration; Coral and jade should avoid long-term immersion in water.
Common problem handling
Surface scratches: Minor scratches can be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper before applying stone polishing agent for repair; For deeper scratches, it is recommended to contact professionals for handling.
Stain penetration: If the stain has already penetrated, a stone specific stain remover (selected according to the material) can be used. After application, let it stand for a moment before wiping, avoiding rubbing with force.
Cracking/Damage: Small cracks can be repaired with stone specific adhesive, while large damages require cutting and patching by a professional organization or overall repair. Do not use ordinary adhesive to stick on your own.
